Damage is extensive, however there were no injuries after a major blaze on a rural property on Township Road 264 near Balzac just west of the QE II.
Crews from several county fire departments were called to help douse the shed and detached garage fire around 5:30 p.m. on Friday afternoon.
There were earlier concerns on social media that the fire may have been at a nearby pet kennel, which happens to be on the same property.
Airdrie RCMP Constable Jason Curtis says there were no injuries either human or animal and foul play isn’t suspected. Rocky View Fire will lead the ongoing investigation.
