Millions headed to SAIT for new technology

SAIT’s tool belt is getting filled with more high tech, hands-on equipment to facilitate more hands on learning for students there.

The institution announced more than $5-million worth of gifts from SAIT’s corporate partners.

Aviation students have a brand new executive jet to work on, along with a state of the art printing press, a coil tubing simulator for petroleum students and an injection into the campus’ learner success centre.

These are the latest in a growing list of corporate donations that president David Ross said starts with interest from SAIT alumni.

“As they go out into the workforce, they tell their story. They’re successful, it’s a bit of a snowball effect. So the partners come back and say ‘So what’s going on there? What can we do to help?’

Among those behind these latest donations, Xerox Canada, Wayne Henuset of Willow Park Spirits, Richard Stewart of Visions, Gordon and Sheryl Dibb and Trevor and Gail Lamb.
