Police say excessive speed to blame in KFC crash

CALGARY (660 NEWS) — Police believe excessive speed was involved when a car crashed through a fast food restaurant on 17th Avenue S.W. Monday evening.
The car struck a family of three who were sitting at a table near the large glass window of KFC.
The man and woman, both in their 30s, and eight-month-old infant were rushed to hospital. The woman suffered life-altering injuries, while the man is in serious, but stable condition. The baby has since been released.
The driver, a woman in her 20s, suffered minor injuries. She has not yet been charged.
Police believe the driver was speeding down 17th Avenue when she encountered an area under construction. and swerved of the road.
Drugs and alcohol are not considered factors.
