Stretch run for Hitmen’s anniversary gift to community

CALGARY (660 NEWS) — The Calgary Hitmen’s regular season is drawing to a close, and so is a special charity initiative celebrating the club’s 25th anniversary.

Submissions for The Hitmen Pledge close mid-March. Over 11,000 volunteer hours have been tabulated so far, with the team aiming for a total goal of 25,000 hours in Calgary and surrounding communities.

The volunteer hours include coaching, serving at a soup kitchen, donating blood, shovelling your neighbour’s walk — anything to share your time with others.

For every 25 hours donated, volunteers receive an entry to the $25,000 draw to be gifted to a charity in southern Alberta. The winner will be picked Sunday, March 22, during the Hitmen’s regular-season finale.

Fourteen games remain in the regular season for the Hitmen.
