CALGARY (660 NEWS) – One of Calgary’s most iconic country nightclubs is available for lease.
Ranchman’s, which has been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic, made the announcement on Saturday with a ‘For Lease’ sign posted at the dance hall.
The site is roughly 17,000 square feet of indoor space, with an additional 5,382 square feet of patio space.
It's last call for #Calgary's iconic cookhouse and dancehall. Ranchman's building is being put up for lease. It closed March 17 due to #COVID19 and hasn't been allowed to re-open since. Pandemic-related economic struggles have brought this #yyc icon to the end of the line(dance). pic.twitter.com/BuhuzLfGX8

Nightclubs in the province haven’t been given the okay to re-open since closing in March, leading this iconic fixture to major economic struggles.
Owners of the building are looking for just under $20 per square foot for the property.
Ranchman’s phone number isn’t working either anymore. The number redirects you to an automated message saying the number isn’t available.
The Stampede hotspot has featured many country artists including Keith Urban, Kenny Chesney, Shania Twain and Paul Brandt in its more than 40-year history. It’s also been the site of several film shoots, such as Cool Runnings.
Users on social media shared their thoughts on the news with some mourning over the loss of the iconic nightclub, others sharing stories, both good and bad of their experiences.
Had many a good times @Ranchmans both as a guest and performing. Hoping someone will keep this iconic building filled with country music once again #countrymusic #history #calgary pic.twitter.com/niG3HGUHrK

Ranchman's was never my scene but it was an important Calgarian landmark.

I remember not being able to sleep during Stampede thanks to the noise reaching the apartment I was in. https://t.co/JgSbGuEEjI
