515 new cases, 5 additional deaths from COVID-19 in Alberta

CALGARY (660 NEWS) — Alberta is reporting another day of surging cases of COVID-19 in the province with 515 new infections in the last 24 hours.
On top of the new infections, an additional 5 deaths have been reported, raising the death count in the province to 343 since the pandemic began.
Currently, there are 6,230 active cases in the province, with 164 people in hospital and 30 in the ICU.
Wednesday’s numbers continue an unfortunate trend of COVID-19 cases in Alberta, with nearly 2,800 cases being reported in the last five days.

Of the deaths, two are in the Calgary-zone, two are in the Edmonton-zone and one in the South-zone.
A man in his 90s linked to an outbreak at Mount Royal Revera and a woman in her 80s linked to the outbreak at the Wing Kei Care Centre are of the deaths in Calgary.
