Police investigating potential attempted child abduction

CALGARY (660 NEWS) — Calgary police have CCTV images of a suspicious vehicle believed to be involved in an attempted abduction.

The vehicle is described as a white Honda Odyssey between the years of 2005 and 2010.

On Friday shortly before 1 p.m., a 13-year-old girl was walking home from the school bus stop along Saddlebrook Drive N.E. when she was approached by the van in question.

The driver asked the girl for directions and allegedly had his pants and underwear around his ankles, exposing himself to the teen.

The girl tried to leave, and as she did, the man pulled his pants up and came up from behind her.

He allegedly opened the sliding door on the van and tried to shove the girl inside.

The girl managed to kick the man and run. The driver followed her until she made it into her home.

The man is described as mid-to-late 30s, with a heavy build, wearing a green long-sleeve shirt, blue jeans, and a blue toque.

Police have been patrolling the area in search of both the vehicle and the man in question.
