Calgary city councillor announces run for re-election ahead of October

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Another city councillor has filed his re-election papers ahead of the October vote in Calgary.

Ward 9 Councillor Gian-Carlo Carra is seeking a fourth term at City Hall. He was first elected in 2010.

Carra has three challengers up against him so far and this leaves Ward 2 Councillor Joe Magliocca the only incumbent yet to announce his intentions for the election.

No matter what, there will be a lot of turnovers in the chambers with no less than six councillors expected and a new mayor as well after Naheed Nenshi said he will not be seeking re-election.
