CALGARY — Traffic delays and congestion is usual on Calgary streets, but an unannounced road closure left many people scratching their heads Wednesday morning.
Drivers were left confused as to why Memorial Drive was practically at a standstill and why they couldn’t access the 4 Avenue flyover.
Wondering what that major delay was on Memorial Drive and the 4th Ave flyover?
Crews were out scouting locations for an upcoming production. But unfortunately they couldn’t tell us what movie or tv series it was for. Nor who was in it and we couldn’t be cast in it. #yyc #abfilm pic.twitter.com/E0aCMMKFti

Around 11 a.m. on the flyover, a charter bus and multiple vehicles were stopped in the middle of the road.
Upon arrival, roughly 30-40 people were gathered on the bridge looking out into the community of Renfrew with no traffic getting through.
Talking with one of the members of the group they said it was a film company scouting locations for an upcoming production.

Calgary police detoured traffic onto the Reconciliation Bridge and caused major delays for about an hour, but all lanes are reopened.
Now for those curious as to what movie or TV show they were planning on shooting, they couldn’t provide us with that information or who was in it.
So, we’ll have to keep our eyes peeled for any Calgary landmarks in the coming months if it made the cut to make it on the big screen.
Calgary is no stranger to big productions setting up base in our city as Superman 3, FX’s Fargo, and HBO’s The Last of Us is currently shooting in the area.
