Needle found in Calgary child’s Halloween candy

A Calgary woman told police that she found a sewing needle in her child’s Halloween candy after they went trick-or-treating in the city’s northwest.

Police say she found the needle on Wednesday in a chocolate bar and reported it to the police the next day.

The child and woman live in Panorama Hills, and police believe the child trick-or-treated at around 100 or more homes.

Due to the numbers, officers are still trying to figure out where the tampered candy came from, and whether it was intentional or not.

This comes after Halloween candy was found laced with fentanyl in Rocky Mountain House on the same day.
