The Calgary Zoo shared a heartwarming video of two giraffes sharing a watermelon in a video on Twitter Saturday.
“Have you ever seen a giraffe eating a watermelon? Well, now you’ve seen 2!” reads the tweet.
Have you ever seen a giraffe eating a watermelon? ???????? Well, now you’ve seen 2! A giraffe's tongue can grow up to 50 cm long and is used for gripping tasty leaves and branches. We think it also makes for a good ‘spoon’! #YourZooYYC #AnimalWellbeing pic.twitter.com/AiQa8B9ZSO

The zoo explains the giraffes’ tongue works like a spoon, as it grows to around 50 cm long to reach for leaves and branches.
Giraffes are very tall mammals — the tallest on earth — and their legs are even taller than most of us — people.
The legs are also able to “pack a real punch,” enabling them to “kick hard enough to break a lion’s skull or spine.”
Giraffes roam in groups, and make their homes in woodlands and dry, open acacia savannahs.
