Calgary Memorial Drive crash sends 3 to hospital

A crash on Memorial Drive on the east side of Calgary sent three people to hospital, including a man in his 70s who is in life-threatening condition.

EMS spokesperson Stuart Brideau says paramedics responded to a two-vehicle crash on Madigan Drive NE at around 12 p.m.

A man in his 20s is in serious condition, and a woman in her 60s is in stable condition. He says all the victims have been transported to Foothills Hospital.

“I think there’s gonna be quite a large shutdown there for quite some time today,” Brideau said.

Calgary police are on the scene.

In the meantime, Memorial Drive is shut down on the east side, with westbound Memorial blocked at 68 Street and eastbound Memorial closed at 52 Street.

Possible routes are 16 Avenue NE or 17 Avenue SE.
