Calgary police investigate fatal shooting outside Market Mall

Calgary’s Homicide Unit are investigating the death of a man that occurred on Saturday outside a mall in the city’s northwest.

At around 2:21 p.m. on Saturday, police responded to the scene following reports of shots fired outside the south entrance of Market Mall, at 3412 49 Street N.W..

Upon arriving at the scene, the police discovered an injured man in a state of medical distress. The victim was transported to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. An autopsy has been scheduled for Monday, August 14.

No suspects are in custody at this time.

Police have released an image of a vehicle that was in the area at the time of the shooting.

The vehicle is described as a white 2015 – 2016 model Volvo XC60. Investigators are actively seeking to communicate with the driver of the vehicle, as they may possess information crucial to the case.
