Fatal home invasion in NW Calgary ruled a homicide, 1st of 2024: police

Calgary police identified the victim of a fatal home invasion in Brentwood on Friday, and they are calling the death a homicide.
Officers responded to reports of a home invasion on Braden Crescent NW Thursday, where they found two people injured and one man dead.
An autopsy was completed on Jan. 5, and the victim has been identified as 53-year-old John Wayne Davis.
Police say the two other people injured remain in the hospital in stable but serious condition.
His death marks the first homicide in Calgary in 2024.
The incident Thursday follows another incident Wednesday when three people were injured in a suspected home invasion in the northwest community of Capitol Hill.
