Cyclist in 60s seriously hurt in Macleod Trail collision, police seek dashcam footage

A cyclist was rushed to hospital in critical condition following a crash with a vehicle on Macleod Trail Sunday, Calgary police say.

Police say they were called to 210 Avenue and Macleod Trail SE at around 11:15 a.m. Sunday for a crash between an SUV and a cyclist.

Investigators believe the collision happened in the merge lane from 210 Avenue SE onto northbound Macleod Trail.

EMS says a man in his mid-60s was rushed to Foothills Hospital in life-threatening condition.

Police say his condition has now been upgraded to stable.

The driver of the SUV stayed on the scene and wasn’t injured.

Roads have opened up after several lane closures were in place as police investigated.
