A man is under arrest after allegedly waving a weapon near traffic on a busy highway ramp on Friday afternoon.

Calgary police say officers were called to the southbound Deerfoot Trail ramp to westbound Glenmore Trail SE around 12:20 p.m.

Investigators allege a man was walking near the off-ramp while waving a bladed weapon.

Officers took one person into custody.

The ramp was temporarily closed as police responded. The road has since reopened.
