Calgary’s WinSport to open ski hill after lack of snow delays start

WinSport will open its ski hill next week after a delayed start to the season due to unseasonably warm weather.

The hill will open next Friday, Nov. 29, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. for the 2024-25 season.

The original opening date was Nov. 22, but was pushed back due to a string of warm days and lack of snow.

Calgary saw significant snowfall at the beginning of the week, with much more expected to fall over the weekend.

Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) says snowfall on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday could amount to up to 25 centimetres.
