Police in Lethbridge are warning motorists of road delays due to a vehicle convoy driving down to Coutts Saturday.
The convoy called the Coutts 3rd Anniversary is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and it will drive along Highway 3, 43 Street South, and Highway 4, heading to Coutts and back.
Officers say roadways outside the city limits, including Highway 512 and 845, may be impacted,
Mounties also delivered an advisory Friday evening.
The convoy is to commemorate the Coutts border blockade that happened during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Marco Van Hugenbois and Gerhard (George) Janzen were convicted in early January for their roles in the blockade, which tied up cross-border traffic with the United States for two weeks to protest COVID-19 pandemic rules and vaccine mandates.
The pair were convicted of mischief over $5,000 and are to serve four and three months in prison respectively.
Two other men, Anthony Olienick and Chris Carbert, were charged with conspiracy to murder police officers at the blockade.
A jury found them not guilty of that offence in September but convicted them of possessing a firearm dangerous to the public peace and mischief over $5,000. Olienick was also convicted of possessing a pipe bomb.
