Water container falls off commercial truck on Stoney Trail causing multi-vehicle crash

Up to 10 vehicles were involved in a crash on Stoney Trail Monday afternoon, Calgary police say.

It happened just after 1:30 p.m. on Southbound Stoney Trail at 17 Avenue SE.

Early reports indicate a commercial truck carrying a water container lost its load. Several vehicles collided while trying to avoid the container, according to police.

No injuries have been reported at this time.

Traffic in the area was temporarily impacted but all lanes have since reopened.
