Shelter-in-place for Cranston due to domestic incident ends: Calgary police

A scary scene for many SE Calgary residents Sunday morning, after police implemented a shelter-in-place for an area in the Cranston community.

A shelter-in-place order for residents in the Cranston area in southeast Calgary due to a domestic situation involving a firearm has ended, police say.

They responded to the incident happening on the 200 block of Cranston Drive SE at around 9:45 a.m.

Officers say the situation has been “successfully resolved,” leading to them rescinding the order.

Traffic restrictions in the area have also been lifted.

No arrests have been made at this time as the investigation continues.
