Calgary police and the Calgary Fire Department are on scene in the southwest Friday morning dealing with flooding that was prompted by an early morning police incident.

A condo building at 2440 34 Avenue was evacuated around 2 a.m., police say.

Officers were called to the area for an unspecified incident that ended with the arrest of one man.

However, police explain during the incident, the suspect started a small fire that triggered the building’s sprinkler system.

This has caused localized flooding the building, according to police.

CFD is working to stop the flooding.
