Police confirm NE Calgary death as homicide; victim identified

A death initially deemed suspicious in northeast Calgary has now been confirmed as a homicide.

Emergency crews were called to a residence on Rundlehorn Drive NE near 22 Avenue NE on June 15, 2025, following reports of an assault.

When officers arrived, they found a man in medical distress. He was rushed to hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

An autopsy was conducted shortly after the incident, but at the time, police said the cause of death remained undetermined. Following months of investigation and forensic analysis, authorities now believe the man died as a result of an assault.

The victim has since been identified as 52-year-old Cody Mitchell Morrow of Calgary.

The homicide unit continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding Morrow’s death. No arrests have been made.
