Calgary police search for suspect after NW hit-and-run in November

By CityNews Staff

A suspect vehicle remains on the loose, and a woman is recovering after it struck her in a hit-and-run collision in November, police say.

It happened on Nov. 25 at around 6:45 p.m. when a 50-year-old woman was crossing a marked street at the intersection of Centre Street and 8 Avenue NW.

The driver of a light-coloured sedan then hit her and continued north on Centre Street without stopping, officers say.

While she was rushed to hospital, she did not sustain life-threatening injuries and has been recovering ever since.

Investigators say they are turning to the public for help after “exhausting all investigative avenues” to find and identify the driver.

The vehicle is described as a white or light-coloured Toyota Camry or Corola which may have front-end damage.

Police ask anyone with information about this incident to call them at 403-266-1234 or leave a tip anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
