A man found with multiple stab wounds in southwest Calgary set off a police response that ended with two suspects in custody and a seizure of drugs and weapons.
Police were called around 5 a.m. on Feb. 16, 2026, after an injured man pleaded for help outside a home along 33 Avenue SW.
Officers arrived to find him suffering from stab wounds. He was rushed to hospital in serious condition, later upgraded to stable.
Police say the stabbing stemmed from a fight inside the home, tied to alleged stolen property. The victim managed to flee and flag down a passerby, who called 911.
Witnesses said two other men were also stabbed in the altercation. Officers soon located and arrested two men matching witness descriptions.
Later that day, police executed a search warrant at the same address, seizing several metal pipes along with fentanyl, methamphetamine and morphine pills with an estimated street value of $1,200.
Two Calgary men now face charges. Alexander Scott Wagar, 38, is charged with one count of assault with a weapon, and Dakoda Lee Milner Garrett, 35, is charged with one count of assault with a weapon and three counts of breaching a release order.
Both are scheduled to appear in court in February.
