Public engagement opens for 2027-2030 Calgary budget

By CityNews Staff

Calgarians now have the opportunity to give their input on the 2027-2030 municipal budget.

Public engagement opened March 18 and runs until April 15.

Residents can give their input via an online survey or in-person at 14 pop-up locations across the city, with one in each ward.

The four-year plan guides how money is allocated to city services, including transit, roads, fire, police, and infrastructure.

It says feedback from residents will help administration and council understand what residents value most and where they believe the city should focus its efforts as the budget is developed.

Budget deliberations for the next cycle will begin in November.

A ‘What We Heard’ report on this engagement is expected to be released mid-2026.
