Shelter in place ends for NE Calgary homes after weapons threat

Calgary police say a man was arrested following weapon threat call in NE Calgary.

Calgary police have arrested a suspect after ordering a shelter in place for several homes in a northeast neighbourhood on Monday due to a weapons threat.

Officers responded to reports of the threat at around 9 a.m. for the 6000 block of Trollinger Street NE in Thorncliffe.

A man was arrested before 11 a.m.

The shelter-in-place order was in place for several nearby residences. However, officers said there was no risk to public safety.

Trollinger Street NE from 56 Avenue to 60 Avenue has reopened.

An investigation is ongoing.
