Mounties in Central Alberta are asking for the public’s help after the same pub was hit by two armed robberies carried out by what investigators believe is the same man.
Blackfalds RCMP say the Sidetraxx pub at the Blackfalds Motor Inn was robbed on two separate occasions weeks apart, each time by a man armed with a handgun and bear spray who demanded cash and fled west across East Avenue.
The first robbery took place around 11 a.m. on April 18.
Police say the suspect walked in wearing a grey hoodie with a “New York 7” graphic, dark pants, sunglasses, grey‑blue Nike runners and a ballcap with a black‑and‑white brim. He took cash from the bartender and ran off with the money in a blue reusable Walmart bag.
The second robbery happened just after 11 a.m. on May 10.
Police say the same man again entered the pub with a handgun and bear spray, pointed the gun at staff and took cash before running away. When staff followed him outside, he used the bear spray and continued westbound.
The second time, he wore sunglasses, gloves, a black face mask, black shoes, a dark grey hoodie and grey sweatpants, both worn inside out, and carried the stolen money in a black reusable Co‑op bag.
Anyone with information is asked to call Blackfalds RCMP at 403‑885‑3333 or contact Crime Stoppers to remain anonymous.
