Calgary police still searching for ‘dangerous’ homicide suspect

By CityNews Staff

Calgary police are asking for help finding a “dangerous” homicide suspect wanted on second-degree murder charges.

Gerald Russell Frommelt, 37, is wanted in connection with death of 23-year-old Jamie Lynn Scheible in the city’s northeast.

On April 7, police responded to a call after receiving reports of gunshots on Templeview Drive northeast near 60 Street northeast. Scheible was found in medical distress and later succumbed to her injuries.

A Canada-wide warrant was issued for Frommelt a few days later.

Police say they have reason to believe Frommelt is still in the Calgary area and is considered dangerous.

They are warning anyone who sees him or has information about his whereabouts to call the police.

Anyone with information is being asked to contact the Calgary police non-emergency line at 403-266-1234 or through Crime Stoppers.
