Calgary police looking for 2 suspects after home invasion

The Calgary Police Service (CPS) is looking for two suspects after a home invasion that happened earlier Sunday in the northwest area of the city.

CPS says officers were initially called to the area of Briar Hill about 4:30 a.m. for a report of suspicious people trying to open car doors.

Shortly after, a call came in for a violent home invasion with at least one suspect said to be armed with a machete. One person living inside the home sustained minor injuries, as he tried to fight the invaders.

Police confirmed to CityNews that a man and woman are involved in the incident, which appears to be random.

Officers say the K9 unit was called into to assist in tracking down a suspect who fled on foot. Another left the scene in a vehicle. They add no one is in police custody yet.
