One person dead after being struck by CTrain in NE Calgary

Calgary police say a man has died after being struck by a CTrain in NE Calgary late Wednesday night. Around 7:30 p.m., police were called to the northeast for reports of the collision, while also shutting down CTrain service in the area.

One person is dead after they were struck by a CTrain in northeast Calgary on Wednesday evening.

Emergency crews were called to the intersection of 36 Street and 26 Avenue NE near Rundle Station around 7:30 p.m. for reports of a train hitting a pedestrian.

Police say a male pedestrian was rushed to hospital in life-threatening condition and succumbed to their injuries.

The intersection of 36 Street and 26 Avenue NE was closed for several hours for the investigation.

At that time, Calgary Transit said Blue Line trains were not stopping at Rundle Station. Shuttle buses were also called in to service Rundle, Whitehorn, and Marlborough stations.
