The blaze broke out just after 8 p.m. Thursday at a recycling facility at Wrangler Industrial Park near Glenmore Trail SE and Stoney Trail.

Devil Teal with Rocky View County Fire Services says crews were able to get control of the fire quickly. They remained on site until about noon Friday to ensure all hot spots were out.

“The weather conditions did help us out,” he says, referencing the cooler air and light snow on Friday morning.

Five stations from Rocky View County were on site as well as an aerial from the Calgary Fire Department (CFD).
