PC’s announce former Arts Development Assoc. president Terry Rock as Calgary-Buffalo candidate

A provincial election has yet to be called in Alberta, but the Progressive Conservatives have announced a new candidate for the downtown riding of Calgary-Buffalo.

Terry Rock, the former president of the Calgary Arts Development Association is hoping to represent the province’s “most urban” constituency.

“We need a seat at the table when we are talking about quality of life, municipal issues, economic development, and other questions that are crucial to having a great downtown for those who work here, play here, and most importantly, live here,” Rock said in a media release Sunday.

Rock said PC leader Jim Prentice’s vision for the future was what ultimately convinced him to take the plunge into politics and notes “this city inspires me.”

Currently, Alberta Liberal MLA Kent Hehr holds the Calgary-Buffalo seat, but he is not seeking re-election.
