Elbow River Casino closes its doors due to COVID-19

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Elbow River Casino is the city’s southeast has decided to close over COVID-19 concerns, posting on its website they will be shut down until further notice.
As far as any future casino closures in our province, Heather Holmen from Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis says they are taking the coronavirus matter seriously.
In a statement, she says AGLC is in contact with all licensed venues and encourages all owners/operators to follow the guidance of Alberta’s chief medical officer of health by implementing additional cleaning and health protocols.
She adds AGLC will continue to work with all owners/operators in the context of determining how–and if–to continue their operations. As this is an evolving situation, this direction may change at any time at the direction of the chief medical officer of health.
