CALGARY – What kind of pranks did you play while you were in high school? This one is hard to top.
A new ad on Kijiji featuring some prime real estate started making the rounds online Tuesday and you may recognize the place.
Its brick exterior and vast front lawn meet at the intersection of 17 Avenue and 6 Street SW.
It has an abundance of square footage; included are two school busses, excellent janitorial staff, and a retinue of students to keep you entertained with band and drama performances.
It’s Western Canada High School.
Students in the class of 2021 apparently listed their school on the buy-and-sell website as a graduation prank.
They put the building up for sale with an asking price of $20.212,021.
The description on the post reads: “Have you wanted to own your very own private property located in the heart of one of Calgary’s most prestigious neighbourhoods in downtown Calgary? Located right on 17th Ave., this century-old building will surely check off all your boxes. So much square feet fits into this bad boy.”
There has been no word on if the hoax advertisement had received any offers–but local real estate agent Puma Bandwait called the newsroom saying if he were looking to buy the school, he’d go a little below asking and offer $20 million cash.
