Inglewood to start car-free Sundays this weekend

CALGARY – For the month of August, the southeast Calgary neighbourhood of Inglewood will host car-free Sundays.

The community is hoping to bolster foot traffic and help the local businesses that call 9 Ave. home.

Stores on that road between 11 and 14 Streets will have the opportunity to expand their storefronts out into the sidewalk.

People will be able to walk down 9 Ave. and shop or take in live music from buskers set to perform on Sundays.

The car-free event will run every Sunday in August from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
