Advance voting for municipal election opens Monday

CALGARY – Advance voting for the 2021 municipal election opens Monday.
Calgarians who have already decided who they want to elect as mayor and as their next councillor can cast a ballot from Oct. 4 to Oct 10.
There are 37 advance vote stations, open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

You can find out where your polling station is here.
And like any other vote, Calgarians must vote at their designated polling station.
Return Officer Kate Martin says you may have to wait a little bit.
“I think it’s reasonable that we will expect some wait times, in light of the social distancing measures that we have to put in place. In order to support efficient voting, we have increased the number of election workers as well,” said Martin earlier this week.

But for those voting in person, you’ll need to bring your mask and proper government identification.
Mail-in ballots are also available as is curbside voting.

It will be a full ballot.
Calgarians have several mayoral candidates to choose from, as well as a plebiscite on fluoride and two referendum questions on daylight saving time and equalization payments.
