Two men are facing charges after a police vehicle was rammed by the driver of a pickup truck in Okotoks Friday.
Okotoks RCMP says it happened around 10:30 p.m. near the intersection of Westland Road and Westmount Street.
Officers were patrolling the area when they found a stolen pickup truck with two people inside. When they tried to pull the driver of the truck over, he allegedly rammed into the front end of the RCMP vehicle with the pickup and drove off.
Later the same night, officers found the truck in the southwest Calgary community of Silverado, where the two men left the truck and went inside a home on Silverado Bank Circle.
With help from Calgary police, RCMP recovered the truck and arrested both men, who according to police, were found with “multiple stolen items.”
Investigators say 35-year-old Airdrie man Chadwick Devaux and 37-year-old Calgary man Zoulton Bonin face multiple charges between them relating to stolen property.
Devaux was also found to have multiple outstanding warrants.
Both men are expected in separate Okotoks Provincial court appearances in the coming weeks.
Police add no officers were injured when the police vehicle was rammed by the truck.
