Downtown sexual assault suspect arrested: Calgary police

A suspect who allegedly sexually assaulted a woman in downtown Calgary in early June has been arrested, police say.

Perjot Sidhu, 23, is now in custody and faces one count of sexual assault.

He is expected to appear in court on August 1.

Officers say the incident happened on June 7 at around 11:15 p.m. in the downtown area on 8 Street SW Ctrain station.

A woman was in the process of renting an e-scooter when an “unknown man” grabbed her from behind and touched her in a “sexual manner without consent.”
