Calgary Expo 2024 set to take over Stampede Park

The Calgary Comics & Entertainment Expo kicks off on Thursday and is set to run until Sunday providing fans with plenty of to do through the weekend.

It’s one of the biggest events in the city each year, according to Tourism Calgary, bringing in a lot of big names and some star-studded Calgarians.

This year’s event runs from April 25-28 at Stampede Park and will feature celebrity Q&As, autograph signings, photo ops, cosplays, comics, anime and more.

Even though the expo officially kicks off Thursday, the Parade of Wonders gets underway 10:30 a.m. Friday at 8 Avenue SW and 8 Street SW. The parade will end with an opening ceremony for the fan expo at Olympic Plaza at 11:15 a.m.

Calgary’s own Todd McFarlane, known for his work on ‘Spider-Man’ and ‘Spawn,’ will be attending. He spoke to CityNews this week to talk about his fans and this year’s event.

Some other notable guests this year include Matthew Lillard and Neve Campbell from ‘Scream,’ and Gina Carano from ‘The Mandalorian.’
