A hit-and-run incident in Calgary’s southeast on Saturday afternoon has left one person with injuries and another potentially facing several charges.

    By CityNews Staff

A driver of a van was hurt after a hit-and-run sent their vehicle onto the CTrain tracks by Macleod Trail in southeast Calgary Saturday, police say.

It happened just before 5 p.m., when the driver of a black Kia hit a white Mercedes van, causing them to be stuck on the tracks by the 39th Avenue Station.

Officers say the Kia driver ran from the scene but add that he has been identified and is potentially facing charges.

Meanwhile, the driver of the van was taken to hospital and treated for minor injuries. They have since been released.

Transit routes were delayed, and roads were closed between 39 and 42 avenues for about two hours.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call police at 403-266-1234 or leave a tip anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
