18-year-old charged in sexual assault, robbery of woman at NE Calgary hotel

A Calgary teen is facing charges for allegedly sexually assaulting and then robbing a woman at northeast Calgary hotel earlier this month.
Calgary police say the incident happened around 3 p.m. on May 16 when a man went to a hotel room at Acclaim Hotel on Freeport Boulevard NE just east of Barlow Trail NE.
It is alleged the man met with an unknown woman in the room and shortly after arriving, threatened her with a knife while demanding cash, the woman’s cellphone and access to the hotel room’s safe.
It’s further alleged the man restrained the woman and sexually assaulted her multiple times before leaving with cash and her cellphone.
In an update Monday, police say 18-year-old Anas Hussain has been charged with sexual assault, robbery, forcible confinement and uttering threats.
