Better weather on the way for Calgary this week

By CityNews Staff

Warmer temperatures are on the way for Calgary after a prolonged deep freeze that wreaked havoc on roads, vehicles, flights, public transit, gas pumps, and more.

Temperatures plummeted well into the minus-30s and 40s for several days this January, which prompted four grid alerts for Alberta in as many days.

Now, it might feel like summer after all that, with Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) forecasting daytime highs above zero every day for the next week.

There’s even more reason to look forward to the upcoming week — with Saturday at 8°C, Sunday at 15°C, and Monday at 17°C.

ECCC says the average high for this time of year is around -2°C.
