WWE’s Smackdown Live (#SDLive) was a top trend in Calgary, Wednesday.
The show has a number of #yyc connections. Current WWE Champion, Jinder Mahal, is from Calgary. His uncle, Gama Singh, wrestled in Stampede Wrestling in the 70s and 80s.
Natalya is the daughter of legendary wrestler Jim Neidhart who formed the Hart Foundation with Bret Hart and spent several years in Calgary.
Tyler Breeze was trained in Calgary by former WWE Superstar Lance Storm.
The show also features a number of Canadians including Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn from Quebec, Chris Jericho from Winnipeg and Tye Dillenger from Ontario.
In American politics, John McCain‘s return to the Senate, following an operation on a brain tumour, had people talking.
Along with plenty of well wishes, and words of encouragement that he is well enough to be back in the Senate House, his vote in regards to American health care has been met with two very different reactions.
And, many social media users are buzzing about the line up for the Toronto International Film Festival.
A-listers Angelina Jolie, George Clooney, Emma Stone, Rachel McAdams and Benedict Cumberbatch will all be featured in films being shown at TIFF in September event.
