Calgary police seek vehicle allegedly involved in Kensington shooting

Calgary police have a lead in a vehicle they allege was involved in the death of a man in his 20s in a shooting in Kensington.

Officers say 23-year-old Edmonton man Omarr Jamal Cameron-Bramwell was found dead in downtown Calgary at 6 Avenue and 10 Street SW on April 12.

The police investigations indicate the shooting occurred in the Kensington Safeway parking lot when they received reports of “gunshots” around 9:30 p.m., along with a “black SUV” approaching on-duty firefighters in downtown Calgary at the same time.

In an update Tuesday, police say a dark-coloured Jeep Patriot was used and later “set on fire.”

They say it was recovered on April 13 in the early morning near the northwest corner of Pinecliff Park on Rundlehorn Drive NE.
