Three people are facing charges following the seizure of $1.3 million in drugs by Calgary police.
An investigation began in October after officers were alerted to several people thought to be involved in drug trafficking.
Police said multiple homes and vehicles believed to be connected to the suspects were identified and monitored.
On Nov. 21, several Calgary Police Service (CPS) Units worked together to execute several search warrants.
According to CPS, searches were conducted at homes on 1 Street SE, 11 Avenue SW, and 31 Avenue NW. Multiple vehicles were also searched, including a black 2018 Acura ILX, a black 2016 Mercedes Benz CLS 550, and a white 2015 Mercedes Benz ML 63 AMG.
The searches resulted in the seizure of 13 kilograms of cocaine, 268 grams of methamphetamine, 150 grams of crack cocaine, and 26 grams of fentanyl. Police also found packaging, cookware, scales, and dye consistent with the production of drugs.
“Our officers located and seized a significant quantity of drugs during this investigation,” Staff Sgt. Keith Shufelt of the CPS District 4 General Investigations Unit said in a statement. “These are extremely dangerous substances that were removed from the community and thanks to the work of our officers in the District 4 Operations Team, those who were believed to be trafficking drugs have been held accountable for their actions.”
Leslie Babajid Cole, 33, has been charged with two counts of possession for the purposes of trafficking, and four counts of failure to comply with a police order. He is set to return to court on Jan. 15.
Ahmed Merhi Chehadi, 32, is facing three counts of possession for the purposes of trafficking, and 11 counts of failure to comply with a release order. His next court date has been scheduled for Friday.
